Due to forecast high winds and heavy rain, there’s a strong likelihood of fallen trees, large branches, and debris across trails.
🚴♂️🚶♀️ Please use extra caution when riding or walking in the forest.
If you come across a downed tree or large obstacle, help us respond faster by reporting it with:
📍 A precise location screenshot (pin drop) + trail name + approx. distance into the trail)
📸 A photo if possible — or a size estimate (e.g. 10cm diameter) so we know what size chainsaw to bring!
🟢 Post a Trail Report on Trailforks
Go to the trail's page → click “Add/Edit” → then “Add Trail Report”
📬 Or send us a message via Facebook with the same info.
(✅ No worries about duplicate messages — more info = better!)
🔁 First lap? Take it easy and throw small debris from the trails. Ride cautiously until you're sure the trail is clear. Your chill lap might save someone else from a nasty surprise.
🪚🌿Rotorua Trails Trust will be out there clearing the damage — but chainsaws need fuel and cleanup costs add up.
