⚠️ Caution: Windfall in the Whakarewarewa Forest 🌲🌬️🌧️

ree

There are fallen trees, large branches, and debris across trails. Rotorua Trails Trust have been hard at work clearing what we can, and will be out there all weekend doing our best!

🚴‍♂️🚶‍♀️ Please use extra caution when riding or walking in the forest.

If you come across a downed tree or large obstacle, help us respond faster by reporting it with:

📍 A precise location screenshot (pin drop) + trail name + approx. distance into the trail)

📸 A photo if possible — or a size estimate (e.g. 10cm diameter) so we know what size chainsaw to bring!

🟢 Post a Trail Report on Trailforks

Go to the trail's page → click “Add/Edit” → then “Add Trail Report”

📬 Or send us a message via Facebook with the same info.

(✅ No worries about duplicate messages — more info = better!)

🔁 First lap? Take it easy and throw small debris from the trails. Ride cautiously until you're sure the trail is clear. Your chill lap might save someone else from a nasty surprise.

🪚🌿Rotorua Trails Trust will be out there clearing the damage — but chainsaws need fuel and cleanup costs add up.

Will you chip in to keep the mahi going?
