🌤️ Weather: Some sunny weather is on the way, allegedly.
🌱 Dirt: Soft, grippy and fantastic and ready to be rebuilt.
Picutres: No new pics this last week, so instead grabbed a few favs for the archives to get you stoked. If you are keen for some epic pics, head to www.rotoruatrailstrust.co.nz/news and check out the latest post, its epic! Enjoy!
Rosebank
The trail adopter has been out with the groms getting Rosebank all tickled up. Super epic and so good to get the young ones out there getting their hands dirty! No Dig No Ride! Woop woop! 🙌
Pig and Piglet
Our fav trail port is back! Woohoo! 🐷 Here is their report from last weekend:
“Even when for a 50km ride one is trying to train,
It’s hard not to stop to clear debris and the odd drain!” 🛠️
Does that mean you are gearing up for the Whaka50?! Go you! I have heard that digging trains is part of every champion athlete's training regime 🙂
No Brains
The “Brains Trust” who are the legends behind No Brains, are gearing up for the winter ahead. They have rather wisely (especially given their name 😄) avoided the dusty open faces of No Brains during summer, but now the dirt is getting ripe for trail work they are READY! Already they have done work on drains, vegetation, minor tweaks, re-shape berms, and clearing slips. Let’s GOOOOOO!!! 🔥
As you Do
Woooweee this trail copped it during the storm eh! 🌧️ The trail adopter has been very busy out there getting it all cleaned up again, really appreciate the hard mahi buddy! Epic effort! 💪
Box of Birds
Same adopter, different trail. This time they have beefed up the log roll to fix that huge hole that had appeared over summer. Legend! 🪵
Taura
Such an epic trail, so silly fast and fun now thanks to all the hard mahi the trail adopter has put in! Thanks to all the tree cover it has held up super well over summer and the trail adopter is continuing the good work of making this trail absolutely epic! 🌲
Arepa
Three amazing trail adopters spent 2 hours on Tuesday clearing out drains on Arepa, so rad! Thank you so much! You are legends! 🤩
This is the sort of crazy awesome work the trail adopters and volunteers of Rotorua do. Super humbled and proud to be out there with you, rain or shine, on the bikes or on the tools. Hanging out with buddies having a laugh while you work and chatting to all the legends who stop their rides to come say thanks. You lot are all my fav peeps in the world! 💚
Hope everyone gets some time on their bikes this weekend, the weather is looking good for it. 🚴♂️
If you are keen to go and work on an AMAZING piece of trail and help it recover from the summer thrashing, then this Sunday, the monthly working bee is going to be on…..
TE MOUNGA!!!
LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
🚀 Events 🎟️
📅 What: First Sunday Working Bee
📍 Where: Rotorua Trails Trust Office
🕘 When: 9am Sunday 4th May 2025
🐝 It’s that time of the month again! The Monthly Working Bee! 🛠️ This time we are heading deep into the forest 🌲 to smash out the break bumps and rebuild the berms on Te Mounga!
This Grade 4 trail has just had its drains dug, so we will focus on lines of sight and trail surface work. If you are a talented builder, or have just always wanted to give it a go, this is your call! 💪
🥤 Bring a water bottle 🚰 and closed-toe shoes with decent grip 👟. If you would rather meet up in the forest, we will be on-site at 9:30am, bring your own hi-vis and tools and we will see ya there! 👀
👨👩👧👦 Volunteers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
💚 Look forward to seeing you all! 🚵♂️🌳
The forest is free to access and love, but it costs A LOT to maintain — will you donate so we can keep the forest beautiful? 💸
