The Rinkly Riders — what a crew of legends 🙌. They are a bunch of good people who give their time and energy to the trails we all love, specifically Te Poaka. They run regular working bees to make this amazing trail even more amazing. From vegetation control, drain clearing and really fantastic surface repairs and berm building, they do it all and it is always something special. 🚵♂️🌲
This past week, for several hours they were out there with shovels, rakes, and spades, digging and scraping, trimming and shaping, packing and grooming. Every corner, every section they touched got a super high quality refresh. The result? A trail that feels smoother, faster, and more alive than ever, just check out the photos! (taken by Rinkly Rider Ann Hunn) Te Poaka’s running better than it has in a long time — you HAVE to go give it a lap!!
Those of you who have come along to one of Rotorua Trails Trust working bees, know that it’s never just about the mahi. It's is a chance to yarn, to share stories, to laugh, and to connect. The trails get lots of love, sure, but so does the community. And that’s what it's all really about and that's what keeps this place special.
So here’s to the Rinkly Riders — legends of Te Poaka, legends of the banter, legends of the forest 🌳. Thanks for the mahi, the stoke 🔥, and the heart you put into it all. We love ya 💚.
