🌲 COMMUNITY IN ACTION 🌧️🚴‍♂️

With over 200km of trail and countless facilities spread throughout the Whakarewarewa Forest, there are always going to be things that break, wear out, or need attention.

This place is massive—and it’s kept running thanks to a small team, an incredible group of volunteers, and the generosity of our trail adopters and community supporters.

Last week, one of the washdown hoses at Tawa had split, leaving riders with an unexpected soaking of not just their bikes, but also their shoes and pants! Not the best after a cold winter ride!

This happened to local legend Brent and his son. Instead of just tell RTT it was “broken” or expecting someone else to deal with it, Brent got in touch with us, offered to replace the hose, fully paid for by himself and then came back out and fixed it the next day. He even upgraded the spout for better water pressure.

Brent—thank you.

And to everyone out there quietly picking up rubbish, trimming branches, moving a fallen log, or reporting issues constructively—we see you, and we appreciate you.

This park is free to ride because people pitch in.

And honestly, it's moments like this that remind us just how special this community is.

Cheers for the new www.hoseshop.co.nz
