Do TENS Machines Really Help with Chronic Back Pain?

Has anyone here used a TENS device consistently for chronic lower back pain? I’m curious whether the relief is temporary or long-term. Did it reduce your reliance on pain medication, and how often did you need to use it to notice meaningful improvement?

I’ve been using a TENS device for chronic lower back pain for about six months now, and for me the relief is mostly short-term but very helpful. After each 20–30 minute session, the pain noticeably decreases for several hours. Over time, with consistent use 4–5 times a week, I’ve seen fewer flare-ups overall. It didn’t completely replace pain medication, but I definitely reduced how often I take it. I ordered mine from tensmachines.co.nz and the quality has been solid so far.
